Tobay Beach

The Tobay Lifeguards are recognized by the community for maintaining a safe bathing environment without a drowning incident since inception, serving hundreds of thousands of beach patrons each summer. The lifeguards have received standing ovations of appreciation performing rescue after rescue this summer of 2008. The successful management (Military like) system has continued to be implemented under the leadership of Gary Mims.
The lifeguard team selected and developed under Gary Mims consists of professional rescue and safety experts such as policemen, firemen and former military personnel combined with young student athletes. The system utilizes a combination of drill repetition, regular workouts in concert with the experience knowledgebase teaching how to recognize potentially dangerous riptides and the appropriate responses to each situation.
